Marc Berna

Marc advises private equity houses, entrepreneurs, private clients and family offices, either national or international, in the global structuration of their affairs. He particularly focuses on tax, real estate and civil law related matters while following a multidisciplinary approach, when advising his clients.

He has substantial experience in assisting entrepreneurs in general and families on a daily basis.

Marc is a member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) and the Union internationale des avocats (UIA). He is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA).

He published several papers on estate planning related issues.

Marc has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 2014. He is in addition registered as a candidat-notaire in Luxembourg.

Marc holds a bachelor and master’s degree in law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), as well as a certificate in European corporate law and German tax law from the Freie Universität Berlin (Germany). He holds an additional certificate in European private law from the University of Salzburg (Austria).

Tim advises foreign and domestic clients on all aspects of corporate and commercial law, with a particular focus on corporate structuring and reorganisations, contract negotiation as well as mergers and acquisitions.

He gained significant experience in handling complex multijurisdictional matters for investment funds, private equity houses and public institutions as member of the M&A practice of a magic circle law firm.

Tim is a member of the Commission de contrôle du Barreau de Luxembourg since 2021 and was elected as member of the board of the Luxembourg Young Bar Association for a two-year mandate from 2018 to 2020.

Prior to joining the Luxembourg Bar in 2016, he worked as chargé de mission for the Ministry of Justice during the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2015.

He holds a bachelor and master’s degree in law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) as well as a certificate in European private law from the University of Salzburg (Austria).

Max Muller

Max advises individual and corporate clients pre-litigation and represents them in front of the Luxembourg courts as well as in arbitration proceedings.

Prior to joining Vertumnus, Max headed the litigation department of a Luxembourg based mid-sized independent law firm.

Having practiced in a wide range of legal areas including civil, corporate, administrative, labour, criminal and inheritance law, he is able to offer a multidisciplinary solution-focused approach when advising his clients. Max particularly focuses on real estate, contractual, commercial as well as inheritance law matters.

He regularly participates as an international expert at conferences abroad and has been appointed as a judicial expert by foreign courts in international litigation cases.

Max has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 2012. He is in addition registered as a candidat-notaire in Luxembourg.

He holds a master’s degree in law from the Université Paul-Verlaine (France) and a LLM from the Universität Trier (Germany).
